Team- It was an incredible weekend. We got a change to be the first to Walk/Run on the Circuit Of The Americas Formula 1 Race Track! For many of you this was the first 5K and for others this was an opportunity to showcase all your learned skills during your long months of training. Weren’t those hills lovely? I am so proud of all the Coach ACT Training Team. The Formula 5K Run was also a big milestone for me. I hit my 1,000 mile mark after completing this race. Wow! For the last few years, I have been using my Nike Sports Watch to keep track of my mileage. I have gone through many pairs of shoes and sore days but it’s all worth it. A thousand miles is equivalent to: 20,000,000 steps, 321 5K’s, 160 10K’s, 76 half marathons or 38 marathons. Running is truly a good addiction to have.

Now from good news to Coach ACT’s Tips for the Austin Alumni:
My fitness journey began April 27, 2007. By 2008, I joined 24 Hour Gym and Weight Watchers which led to me losing weight. In 2009, I started training for my first Texas Round Up 5K. In 2010, I started training for my first Texas Round Up 10K. By May 2010, I was asked to continue training a 5K/10K team at the Capitol . This incredible role led me to become known as Coach ACT (2 years of being a "nice" coach). In 2011, I ran my first half-marathon and later became an AFAA certified personal trainer. February 2012, I ran my first marathon in Austin. For 2013, I will be running my second marathon in Houston. I plan to take Coach ACT Training to the next level in Houston to improve the health of my community.
