Talking about celebrations, my little sister is graduating this weekend with a Bachelors in Chemistry from University of Houston-Downtown. She wanted me to share her recent project with the team. I actually helped her too. I did the comic section. She always talks to the family about bonds, polymers, molecules and chemicals. I just listen and nod my head. It is another language to me when she explains many chemical processes. I listened when she explained the chemical process for corn and High Fructose Corn Syrup.
There is a new campaign that is working on persuading the general public that corn and sugar are the same. This is what we are being told:
Turns out that there is a relationship between consuming High Fructose Corn Syrup and obesity. This is scary. For instance Coca Cola company switched from sugar to high fructose corn syrup about 30 years ago to save money in ingredients while making more money in selling the products. “In 2004, a study published by researchers from Louisiana State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill theorized that High Fructose Corn Syrup in beverages could play a role in the obesity epidemic.” huffingtonpost, consumerreports
Continue to read your food labels and eat more natural food than processed. Eating healthy improves your overall health.
