I am a Marathoner!

Hey Team!
My weight loss journey began in April of 2007. I went from literally being a couch potato to running my first 5K in 2009. My first 10K in 2010. Then my first half-marathon in 2011.
Since late August 2011, I have been training with USA Austin Fit- Advanced Training Program. I was training with experienced marathoners (they all motivated me).  I would train during the week with the ATP group on T/W/TH at 5:30 am and Coach ACT training team on T/TH afternoons.  ATP Long Runs on Saturday. If I traveled to Houston I met with the ATP group there. Sunday walks at Mueller with Coach ACT team and gym on random days to get in the Sauna.  I went from running 15 miles a week to over 35 miles a week.  I didn't stop... even though I had some bumps on the road with chin splints, hip issues, sprang ankle, etc.  There were many times that I said, "I can't do this".  There were days I would be sore and/or tired from long days of balancing training, work, school, traveling and life. But I made a goal to run my first marathon and I didn't want to give up.  It took a lot of hard work and dedication.  It was not only a physical but also a mental challenge.
I still can't believe it but I am now "officially" a marathoner! I did my first hilly Austin Livestrong Marathon on 2.19.12! Thanks to God and Virgin Mary in protecting me in this journey. Thanks to all my family, friends and cheerleaders that came out to cheer me on. Thanks to my family, friends, USA Austin Fit Advanced Training Program, Luke's Locker, trainer Raul Garcia, ATP running team, my Coach ACT team, my doctors and 24 Hour Fitness trainer Ana Garcia for all your support. I love you guys!  You all believed in me and I did it. It's such a great feeling.
It's like one of my running buddies told me once, "Running is an addiction". I think this is a good addiction that I have to make sure I maintain my good health.  I am signing up for another marathon next year. Maybe I will sign up for runners anonymous too. Hopefully, I win the lottery to participate in the Houston Marathon if not I will do one in San Antonio or Dallas. What is your fitness goal or new fitness addiction? How are you going to make sure you follow through with it?
Remember, when it comes to fitness. I want to see results…not excuses…it’s for your health!
